A Big Girl Day

Sydney starts the day by helping make her pancakes.

She helps wash all of the dishes, too.

She gets dressed and puts on her shoes and socks all by herself.

After school she picks out some of her special rocks for a present for Nanny.

She paints the rocks with me.

Sydney gets hold of the camera and takes a self portrait.

She also takes a picture of the artwork in her activity area.

Then it's off to gymnastics for some balancing and cartwheels!!

Such a big girl now!!

First Day of Kindergarten!!

Sydney started Kindergarten today.  She got pancakes for breakfast!

Here she is in her uniform in front of school - ready for learning!

Saying goodbye was fun - not sad at all!  She was so happy to see her friends again.

The classroom board was full of little fish with all of the students' names on them.

Nanny came over to celebrate Sydney's first day of Kindergarten.  We went out to dinner at Sydney's favorite restaurant - BJs!

This is why it's her favorite restaurant... Pizookies!!!

Moon Phases

Sydney got to learn about moon phases today.  We took some chocolate sandwich cookies and removed parts of the creme filling to make the shape of the moon in different phases.  Sydney can now look up at the moon and tell me whether it's a waxing or a waning cresent or gibbous moon or if it's a first or last quarter.  She remembers them better than me sometimes!  

After working on moon phases I told her she could pick a quiet time activity and she decided to pick her spelling words...

Napa Valley Road Trip

We headed to Napa Valley for the day with some old friends from Florida.  Sydney had a great time and even got to drink her juice out of a fancy wine glass - she's hooked!

Bathtub Art

We started a clean palette in the bathroom today so Sydney and I took pictures of all her bathtub artwork before cleaning it off so she could start all over.
